Orchestra Uniform Policy |

|
Each student in orchestra will be issued a performance uniform. Girls will receive a dress, boys a tuxedo. Every student will be required to pay a $10.00 cleaning fee before they are issued a uniform. This fee will cover uniform cleaning when the uniform is turned in. If you wish to clean your uniform during the year it will be done at your own expense. Uniforms must be dry-cleaned, not washed in the machine. The uniforms also need to be hung up properly on a hanger to prevent wrinkling and creasing. Students issued a uniform may keep the same uniform from year to year. Students do not have to turn in uniforms unless the student out grows it, leaves the orchestra program, or graduates. Dresses and tuxedo pants come with extra length so that they may be adjusted year after year for each student that uses them. Dresses or pants may be hemmed with little effort using a sewing machine, or hand sewing. You can take uniforms to most dry cleaners and they will hem it for a small fee. You are responsible for having your dress/pants altered to fit you properly. Parents, if you have sewing skills and would like to offer your services to the orchestra please contact me! We always need help with uniform fitting and altering. Every orchestra student should invest in a pair of black dress shoes if you do not already own a pair. Black tennis shoes will not do. Black flip flops will not do. Shoes must be 100% black. For girls, closed toe shoes are preferred and look more professional. Boys must wear BLACK socks with their dress shoes. Students who are not wearing black dress shoes will not be allowed to perform at concerts.
